Welcome, Grown-Ups!
Woofie & Friends is a free educational platform for children aged 3–8. Safe, joyful learning with no in-app purchases and no data collection from children.
Here's how you can make the most of it at home or in the classroom.
Learning at Home
Woofie is designed to be used independently by little ones, but it's even better with you alongside! Here are some tips:
- Sit together and explore — ask your child what Woofie is doing
- Use the games as a springboard for real-world activities
- Celebrate progress with the star rewards and sticker book
- A parent can sign in to save stickers and stars across devices — children will be prompted to ask a grown-up for help
- Try a "Woofie moment" as part of your daily routine — morning or wind-down time works great
- Let your child lead — there's no wrong way to explore
In the Classroom
Woofie works brilliantly on interactive whiteboards, tablets and shared screens. Teachers love it for:
- Carpet time — use Woofie videos and songs as engaging starters
- Learning stations — set up a Woofie tablet station for independent play
- Reward time — earned free time with Woofie is a great motivator
- SEND support — the gentle pace and clear visuals work well for all learners
No logins needed — just open the site and go. It works on any device with a browser.
What Kids Learn
Woofie covers key early years learning areas through play:
- Literacy — letter recognition, phonics, storytelling
- Numeracy — counting, shapes, patterns, early maths
- Communication — listening, vocabulary, following instructions
- Creativity — music, art, imaginative play
- PSED — kindness, sharing, emotions, friendship
- Understanding the World — nature, animals, seasons
Activities align with the EYFS and KS1 frameworks, though Woofie is designed to feel like play, not work!
Our Approach to Learning
Woofie is built on a few simple principles:
- Play-based — children learn best when they're having fun
- No pressure — no timers, no fail states, no competition
- Positive reinforcement — stars and stickers celebrate effort, not perfection
- Repetition with variety — core skills revisited through different activities
- Child-led — kids choose what to explore at their own pace
Every child is different. Woofie meets them where they are and gently encourages them forward. 💜
Screen Time Tips
We know screen time is a big topic for families. Here's our guidance:
- 15–20 minutes per session is a great sweet spot for young children
- Mix screen time with off-screen activities inspired by what they've learned
- Use Woofie as part of a balanced routine, not a replacement for other play
- Sit with your child when you can — shared screen time is the best kind
- It's okay to let them play independently too — Woofie is designed to be safe and self-contained
Woofie has no infinite scroll, no autoplay, and no addictive mechanics. When the fun is done, it's done. 🌟
